Arrangement with scenes
A loop becomes a track when something arrives, leaves, and returns with a reason.
A good loop answers “what happens now?” An arrangement answers “why should I keep listening?” The cheapest answer is contrast: let something arrive, leave and return.
Listen for: The texture stays equally dense throughout.
Change density before writing more
Start an Intro with one or two parts. Let Main reveal the complete loop. Remove the bass or kick for a Break; restore them in the Drop. The notes can stay identical while the listener experiences four different sections.
PlasticSynth scenes remember each track's pattern and mute state. The arrangement is simply a list of scenes in play order. Mix settings stay global, so sections change the music without making faders jump unexpectedly.
Return creates meaning
A part disappearing makes its return audible. Save the fullest density, brightest register or strongest rhythm for a later section instead of spending everything in bar one.
