Build a techno pulse

A strict low-end frame with two patterns that evolve against it.

You will make

A relentless club loop whose interest comes from density, filter movement and controlled subtraction.

Build it, one layer at a time

Establish the machine

Begin with the euclidean pulse. Choose a pattern that repeats clearly enough to become the track's ruler.

Listen for: A cycle you can predict after hearing it twice.

Make a second cycle rub

Add acid with a phrase that accents different points from the percussion. The disagreement creates forward motion.

Listen for: Two loops meeting differently across the bar.

Anchor the floor

Bring in the sub and simplify it until every low note reinforces the main pulse. Techno weight comes from consistency before complexity.

Listen for: A firm centre that makes the upper patterns feel more animated.
▶ Open checkpoint 3 in Studio

Arrange by subtraction

Create a break scene with the sub muted, then a drop with all three parts. Automate one acid fader ride into the return.

Listen for: Energy changing even though the tempo never does.

Make it yours
