Write the moving line
Start with a sparse 303 pattern. Repeat one note enough to establish a centre, then place two jumps that pull away from it.
Listen for: A line with a recognisable home note and a little tension.
▶ Open checkpoint 1 in StudioSixteen steps become a line when slide, accent and filter motion disagree.
A forward-driving club loop with a squelching acid line anchored by sub and drums.
Start with a sparse 303 pattern. Repeat one note enough to establish a centre, then place two jumps that pull away from it.
Add slide only where one note should pour into the next. Accent a different set of steps so pitch movement and energy do not always arrive together.
Add the sub at a lower level. It should make the line feel larger without obscuring the acid voice's midrange bite.
Bring in the drum grid and ride the acid cutoff while the loop plays. The pattern stays the same, but the filter turns repetition into performance.
